Mindlessness VERSUS Keeping The Mind Still

From delightful words to mindlessness and back to truth.

Being conscious , is what you are aware of, like thoughts that reach the surface , but that what lies below it, the unconscious is where all those experiences and connections are housed, only if they see of themselves does it surface as thoughts, feelings, therefore keeping the mind still is not enough. It is not about keeping the mind still, but being mindless-ness

This state of mindless-ness is not separate from having a mind, while this might sound contradictory , but from this state you can function, in fact be in perfect harmony, doing what is perfectly right at the right moments. This knowing will use the brains knowledge and vocal cords ability to say and do what is right because the real you is one with wisdom and love.



There has been a long misunderstanding about these two things: keeping the mind still and mindlessness. There have been many people who have thought that they are synonymous. They appear to be synonymous, but in reality they are as far apart as two things can be, like black and white, like good and evil and there is no way to bridge them.


The difference is very delicate. A man who is keeping his mind still and a man who has no mind will look exactly alike from the outside, because the man who is keeping his mind still is also silent. Underneath his silence there is great turmoil, but he is not allowing it to surface. He is in great control.

The man with no mind, or mindlessness, has nothing to control. He is just pure silence with nothing repressed, with nothing disciplined -- just a pure empty sky.

Surfaces can be very deceptive. One has to be very alert about appearances, because they both look the same from the outside -- both are silent. The problem would not have arisen if the still mind was not easy to achieve. It is easy to achieve. Mindlessness is not so easy to achieve; it is not cheap, it is the greatest treasure in the world.

Mind can play the game of being silent; it can play the game of being without any thoughts, any emotions, but they are just repressed, just not letting it surface as thoughts and feelings, fully alive, ready to jump out any moment. The so-called guru’s have fallen into the fallacy of stilling the mind. If you go on sitting silently, trying to control your thoughts, not allowing your emotions, not allowing any movement within you, slowly it will become your habit. This is the greatest deception in the world you can give to yourself, because everything is exactly the same, nothing has changed, but it appears as if you have gone through a transformation.

The state of no-mind or mindlessness is just the opposite of stilling the mind -- it is getting beyond the mind. It is creating such a distance between yourself and the mind that the mind becomes a grain of sand on a beach, and you are seeing the beach with all its grains of sand. When the mind is still you are the controller. When the mind is not, you are the watcher. These are the distinguishing marks.

When you are controlling something you are in tension; you cannot be without tension, because that which is controlled is continuously trying to revolt against you, that which is enslaved wants freedom. Your mind sooner or later will explode with vengeance.

A story

there was a man of a very angry and aggressive type, so violent that he had killed his brother for something trivial. The whole family was afraid of him because he knew no argument except violence.

The day he killed his brother by beating him with a stick, a monk was passing by. A crowd had gathered, and the monk said, "This mind full of anger and violence will lead you to hell."

this monk was so peaceful that the man wanted to be like him and said, "I also want to be as peaceful as you are, but what can I do? I don`t know anything. When anger grips me I`m almost unconscious, and now I have killed my own brother."

The monk said, "The only way to still this mind, which is full of anger and violence and rage, is to renounce the world." truth is a religion of renunciation, and the ultimate renunciation is even of clothes. The monk lives naked, because he is not allowed to possess even clothes.

The man was of a very arrogant type, and this became a challenge to him. Before the crowd he threw his clothes in the rubbish bin . The whole family could not believe it, "Is he mad or something?" The man fell down at his feet and said, "You may have taken many decades to reach the stage of renunciation.... I renounce the world, I renounce everything. I am your disciple -- initiate me."

the monk told him,” from this moment you have to remember that peace has to become your very vibration."

The man disciplined himself, stilled his mind, fasted long, tortured himself, and soon became more famous than his master. Angry people, arrogant people, egoistic people can do things which peaceful people will take a little time to do. He became very famous, and thousands of people used to come just to touch his feet.

After twenty years the man was in the capital. A monk from his village had come for some purpose, and he thought, "It will be good to go and see what transformation has happened to this man who killed his brother. So many stories are heard -- that he has become a totally new man, that his old self is gone and a new fresh being has arisen in him, that he really has become peace, silence, tranquility."

So the monk went with great respect. But when he saw the man, seeing his face, his eyes, he could not think that there had been any change. There was none of the grace which necessarily radiates from a mind which has become silent. Those eyes were still as egoistic -- in fact they had become more pointedly egoistic. The man`s presence was even more ugly than it used to be.

Still, the monk went close. The man recognized the monk, who had been his neighbor -- but now it was beneath his dignity to recognize him. The monk also saw that he had recognized him, but he was pretending that he did not. He thought, "That shows much." He went close by and asked, "Can I ask you a question? What is your name?"

Naturally, great anger arose in the man because he knew that this monk knew perfectly well what his name was. But still he kept himself in control, and he said, "My name is Cain."

The monk said, "It is a beautiful name -- but my memory is very short, can you repeat it again? I have forgotten... what name did you say?"

This was too much. Cain used to carry a staff. He took the staff in his hand... he forgot everything -- twenty years of controlling the mind -- and he said, "Ask again and I will show you who I am. Have you forgotten? -- I killed my brother, I am the same man."

Only then did he recognize what had happened...

In a single moment of unconsciousness he realized that twenty years have gone down the drain; he has not changed at all. But millions of people feel great silence in him.... Yes, he had become very controlled, he keeps himself repressed, and it had paid off. So much respect and he had no qualification for that respect -- so much honor, even kings came to touch his feet.

Your so-called guru’s and teachers are nothing but controlled animals. The mind is nothing but a long heritage of all your animal past. You can control it, but the controlled mind is not the awakened mind.

The process of controlling and repressing and disciplining is taught by all the religions, and because of their fallacious teaching, humanity has not moved a single inch -- it remains barbarous. Any moment people start killing each other. It does not take a single moment to loose your selves; they forget completely that they are human beings, and something much more, something better is expected of them. There have been very few people who have been able to avoid this deception of controlling mind and believing that they have attained mindlessness.

To attain mindlessness, a totally different process is involved: I call it the turning of lead to gold alchemy. It consists only of a single element -- that of watchfulness.

Gautam Buddha is passing through a town when a fly comes and sits on his forehead. He is talking to his companion, Ananda, and he just goes on talking and moves his hand to throw off the fly. Then suddenly he recognizes that his movement of the hand has been unconscious, mechanical. Because he was talking consciously to Ananda, the hand moved the fly mechanically. He stops and although now there was no fly, he moves his hand again consciously.

Ananda says, "What are you doing? The fly has gone away..."

Gautam Buddha says, "The fly has gone away.... but I have committed a sin, because I did it in unconsciousness."

The English word "sin" is used only by Gautam Buddha in its right meaning. The word "sin" originates in the roots which mean forgetfulness, unawareness, unwatchfulness, doing things mechanically -- and our whole life is almost mechanical. We go on doing things from morning to evening, from evening to morning, like robots.

A man who wants to enter into the world of mindlessness has to learn only one thing -- a single step and the journey is over. That single step is to do everything watchfully. You move your hand watchfully; you open your eyes watchfully; you walk, you take your steps alert, aware; you eat, you drink, but never allow mechanical ness to take possession over you. This is the only alchemical secret of transformation .But realize that being watchful is not of mind, being conscious from beyond mind.

A man who can do everything fully consciously becomes a luminous phenomenon. He is all light, and his whole life is full of fragrance and flowers. The mechanical man lives in dark holes, dirty holes. He does not know the world of light; he is like a blind man. The man of watchfulness is really the man who has eyes.


He says it is useless to think who is right and who is wrong. There are thousands of doctrines, hundreds of philosophies, and if you go on searching for truth in those words, you will be lost in a jungle where you cannot find the path. All that you know is to attain to a solid basis within yourself.

It is not a question of controlling yourself separate from existence; it is a question of letting-go and becoming vast -- as vast as existence itself. And in watchfulness you become infinite: that is the only thing within you which has no limits.

Just have a look at your watching, witnessing. It is unlimited. No beginning, no end...it is formless.

This absolute stillness of the mind is exactly no-mind or mindlessness. It is not control, it is not discipline; it is not that you are putting all your pressure on your mind and keeping it silent. No, it is simply not there. The house is empty. There is nobody to control and there is nobody to be controlled. All concerns for control have disappeared into a simple watchfulness. This watchfulness is expansive. Once you have tasted it a little, it goes on expanding to the very limits of the universe.

When old habits suddenly arise, don`t use your mind to repress them. Let go and it will disappear like a wave reaching the shore.

He is reminding you that even when you are moving on the path of watchfulness, sometimes old habits may revive. But don`t be concerned, they will disappear of their own accord. You simply watch. Don`t get concerned, don`t get disturbed, don`t be worried.

Sometimes there will be anger, sometimes there will be a desire, sometimes there will be an ambition, but they cannot disturb your watchfulness. They will come and they will go without leaving a trace on your mirror-like purity. But you have only to remember one thing: not to start fighting with them, smashing them, destroying them, throwing them away. It comes very naturally to the mind that if something wrong is happening, jump on it and destroy it. This is the only thing you have to be aware of, because this is what never allows a man to get beyond the mind. Old habits will come -- and old habits are very old, many, many lives old. Your awareness is very fresh and very new; your mechanicalness is ancient, so it is very natural that it will come back. but this is only after insights have arisen which have shown you the true nature of thoughts and feelings, therefore this path is for those who have made what was given to them through the articles their living truth.

Somebody insults you -- you don`t have to be angry, but suddenly you find anger arising. It is not an effort, it is just an old habit, Mr Bucket an old reaction that recognizes of itself a reason for being. Don`t fight with it, don`t try to smile and hide it. Just watch it, and it will come and it will go.... Like a wave reaching the shore.. in the pervious articles we talked about forgiveness being the weapon to fight evil, these were to lead you to recognition of you and him who lives in the dark corners of your house and loosen the stronghold he has, had on you.

From this point mind can be used as it was intended , as a tool, while there is no mental activity.

I am talking to you, and I am using my mind because there is no other way.

Mind is the only way to convey any messages in words; that is the only mechanism available. But my mind is absolutely silent, there is no mental activity: I`m not thinking what I`m going to say, and I`m not thinking what I have said. I`m simply responding to spirit spontaneously without bringing myself into it.

It is as if you go into the mountains and you shout and the mountains echo: the mountains are not doing any mental activity, they are simply echoing. When I am talking by spirit, I am just a mountain echoing.

Right when using mind, there`s no mental activity. Crooked talk defiled with names and forms, straight talk without complications. Without mind but functioning.... This is a strange experience, when you can use mind without any mental activity.... Without mind but functioning, always functioning but non-existent.



So mindlessness and mind are not separate. Mindlessness is mind without any content, without any thought. It is just like a mirror not reflecting anything.

The silence of being a mirror not reflecting anything is the greatest bliss that existence allows man to have. And from there things go on expanding -- mysteries upon mysteries... no questions, no answers, but tremendous experiences... nourishing, fulfilling, giving contentment to the hungry soul which has been wandering for lives upon lives.

It is time to stop this wandering.

To stop this wandering there is a simple method, and that is to start watching your mind, your body, your actions. Whatever you are doing or not doing, one thing you have to be alert of -- that you are watching. Don`t lose the watcher -- then it doesn`t matter whether you are a Christian or a Hindu or a muslim or a Buddhist.

The watcher is no one. It is just pure consciousness.

And this pure consciousness can only bring a new humanity, a new world, where people will not discriminate against each other for stupid reasons. Nations, races, religions, doctrines, ideologies -- those are just for children to play with, not for mature people. For mature people there is only one thing in existence, and that is watchfulness.

those who have grown enough will naturally go to spread the message. While he himself is not enlightened yet; that`s why each time I tell him, "Remember, I have to say this because you are not enlightened yet... you are articulate, you speak well, you have enough experience to have recognized so you can spread the message. You may not be able to sow the seeds but you may be able to attract a few people to come to me -- but use this opportunity also for your own growth."

The monk asked, "What can I do, how can I use this opportunity?"

And Buddha said, "There is only one thing that can be done in every opportunity, in every situation, and that is watchfulness. You will sometimes find people irritated by you, angry because you have hurt their ideologies, their doctrines, their prejudices. Remain silent and watchful. You may have days when you cannot get food because the people are against you, they will not even give you water. Watch... watch your hunger, watch your thirst... but don`t get irritated, don`t get annoyed. What you will be teaching people is of less importance than your own watchfulness, show them the way to me.

If you come back to me watchful, I will be immensely joyful. How many people you approached does not matter; how many people you spoke to does not matter. What ultimately matters is whether you have come home, whether you yourself have found the solid basis of witnessing. Then all else is insignificant."

This is the only meditation there is; in truth be it the Bible, Koran, the Veda’s the Upanishads



One final thing: in preparation of mindlessness the bible states” the heart of the righteous one meditates so as to answer” Proverbs 15:28.



You might recall moments where you regretted what you said, it is particularly difficult when emotions arise be it thoughts or feelings, through the insights of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and by remaining aware, you will be able to seek always for delightful words of truth and actions.

Those who have knowledge think before they speak.

Therefore always seek to understand the other rather then accuse or put them down, then finding these words of value will come more easily .



Often it is understood that the kingdom of god is in your heart , Jesus did say: look the kingdom of god is in your midst. Some translations say the kingdom of god is within you, when referred to in the bible, the figurative heart means the inner person, the source of a persons thoughts, attitudes, and feelings, but the bible also tells you: the heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate, Jesus said, from inside, out of the heart of man, injurious reasoning issue forth. now when it is said that you sold your soul to the devil, then know also that the soul is threefold . These were the laws to keep you looking in the right direction until the revelations of the truth, now you have to walk the truth.

Are you willing to love unconditionally? (a friend's experience)

A friend of mine sent me this message by e-mail today about something that happened to her.  I think she would love for others to hear her story as well.

Dear  Be Loved One, 

  Sunday, the battery went dead on my car and after getting it started again I needed to drive the car for awhile to get it fully charged. It was a beautiful spring day and I decided to go up a winding mountain road that I have never traveled before, even though it is very close to where I live.   I decided to chant a healing mantra and sent it out to the area. I pictured myself like a lighthouse radiating the Light of Love with this sound.  

After about 20 minutes a couple flagged me down and I pulled over to see what they needed.   The man spoke first and asked if I could give him a ride. Meanwhile, his wife walked back to their car, as he continued talking. He said his mother was dying in the hospital and they were on their way to see her when they got into a fight. Suddenly, he interrupted his story because his wife was yelling at him that she was going to dump his stuff out of the car and drive off.

He went running to the car to plead with her not to do that.   Next thing I know, she is walking past the car and says, "I'm not getting in the car with him again. I don't feel safe." and she kept on walking down the hill.   Oh, my.   He returns to me and continues to explain his situation. First he painted a good picture of himself and then I gently asked, "Your wife said she doesn't want to be in the car with you. Is there any reason why?"    He then admitted that he had been yelling at her and they had been fighting over a storage locker. He told me how much he supports her and their son and how he pays all the bills, etc. And then something shifted and he asked me for advice. "What would you do?"  

I said, "Can you send her love unconditionally? I said this in a gentle tone, a very sweet tone, full of love. "Just send her love no matter how she behaves, no matter what she says, just concentrate on sending her love. Can you do that?"   He just completely relaxed and had this "Ah Ha" expression on his face, like he was both surprised at this and at the same time already knew it deep inside.   We conversed some more and he decided that he didn't need a ride anymore and would wait for her to return with the keys to the car.   He thanked me profusely and said I was an angel.   He said he had been bargaining with her, saying "If you do this then I'll do that." He could see right away that he was placing all kinds of conditions on his love.   It was so beautiful to witness the transformation in him.  

It was funny, because I'm not usually on that road and I felt that whole dead battery situation was created to lead me to them and to be of service.   I also felt energized after the experience too. I just felt love for everyone and everything. My battery had truly been recharged by unconditional love.   It was clear to me that his readiness made him receptive to the words I gave. It's as though we were both playing our parts and the Divine was directing us and prompting us with our lines. It all just felt so easy.   I am so grateful for receiving teachings about Love which equipped me to serve in this situation. It was so simple, so joyful, so loving!   Thank you Divine, thank you teachers everywhere, thank you!   I want to share this story today with you, one of my Love teachers, on this most special Valentines Day.   Blessings, Christine

Who would you like to ask about the past?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 18, 2008:

Well I just now went into my own kind of talking to Spirit and was told what was  the reason for the decline of the civilization which existed in the past which was more advanced than we at this present time are.  

I am never given the name of who I talk to and I don't always trust this kind of communication, however there are times when what is said makes sense to me.

I ask what was the main reason that this civilization passed away and was told it was because of the energy of the black magicians.  Their magic was trickery and it was convincing trickery such that they could cause people to believe in something that was not really true.  But the belief of many people about anything, especially if there is emotional energy put into the belief, will cause what is believed to be true, to objectify or come into existance.  The coming into existance of what they were made to believe  'became real to them'  and they began to fear which caused wars which devastated their society.

It is much like the belief in the Grays and the Reptillians of today.  Those who believe that they exist, if they continue to involve more and more people into accepting that they exist and cause them to put their emotional energy into their believing, will bring about that which they fear.  It is true that if you can imagine a thing, it can become.  Yet it takes enough people using their imagination to make  up the critical mass  in order for a thing to 'become' from  pure imagination. We have not fully understand our creative dominion given to us by the right use of our imagination.  Some like Jesus came to this awakening and they by themselves could do many things that people looked upon as magic like the walking on water and the multiplying of the bread....Yet this was not magic but the perfect knowing of a law and belief in it. 

Those who tempt us to believe in things like the "Reptilians and their Agenda" are actually creating what they fear for themselves mainly yet if they were more adept in influencing people as were those of the past then they could potentially do the same today as was done in the past.   But they won't, for the truth that we create with our imagination is a belief that is  growing every day and people are beginning to awaken to the power that lies latent within themselves, the Father within, like Jesus spoke of when he said, "He that is within me is greater than he that is in the World, or when he said, "Of myself I can do nothing, it is the Father within that does these great things you see me do". 

It is that mysterious power that is within us all , which is suggested into creation (in that mysterious way past finding out how it is done) of whatever is believed to be true by the conscious part of us that is in the world. It is the God within, that which brings about the manifestation of the thing believed to be, or feared to be.  We have a choice to come from a place of fear or a place of loving trust and belief. (trust like a little child)  it is good to get very emotional about the good that is already here and the good that we see growing expoentially but which is not yet seen by so many who are sleeping when they could become awake.  Fear is after all "F  false, E evidence, A appearing, R real.   We live in an unreal world of illusion but we can be the masters of it since we live here and we want to live here in peace and prosperity.  I do think that we will graduate from this classroom someday and get off of the wheel of rebirth but in order to get there we simply have to quit  buying into all the fear mongers stories and even into what seems to be true based on our observation.   Our eyes deceive us so often.

I once read of a primitive tribe of natives who believed that dream time foretold things that were going to happen to the dreamer.  Then if say one of them dreamed that he was hurt in some way, the others of the tribe would help him by re-enacting the scene from his dream with him.  They play-acted the events of his dream and when they came to the part where he got hurt, they deliberately changed it into another happening and that is what they acted out.  If for instance he broke his leg when he was running after some game, they would have it that he ran and ran so much that his leg became stronger and he used his strong leg to bring down the prey by kicking it. (or some other such story)  Then instead of fear the dreamer could feel great excitment and joy in this reinterpretation of his dream.

Children's Movies That I Love for their Messages

Children's Movies


I have been to many of the children's movies in the last few years  with my grandchildren and I am very happy to say that they are very wonderful vehicles for bringing forth new thoughts of a metaphysical nature.


I personally have prayed that through the medium of a children's movie, our young people could be presented with many messages that will register with them in a meaningful and poignant way.


As a people we have been trying to wake ourselves up through our songs and stories for many years now. 


Here's one  "Twinkle, twinkle little star

                     How I wonder what you are

                     Up above the world so high

                     Like a diamond in the sky

                     Twinkle twinkle little star

                     How I wonder what you are       (some there are that think of ourselves

                                                                          as being ‘frozen star dust')


And then there is

                     Roll, roll, roll your boat gently down the stream

                     Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily

                      Life is but a dream                                                                      


                                                                     some there are- I'm one -  that feel that life is

                                                                     illusion, maya, a dream and we don't

                                                                     want to go upsteam but with the flow and

                                                                     gently into that good night.



Below is a sypnopsis of some childrens's movies and their lessons. If you are planning on watching one of these and don't want to know too much about it yet, skip over that one so as not to spoil your viewing of the movie when you go.


                                                                 The  Wizard of Oz

Have you ever thought about how many great thoughts are presented in this old time favorite. Dorothy fall from the sky in her house, (we fell from an estate once) where she is trying to find her way back home. The characters she journeys with, ScaryCrow looking to find a brain, Tinman, looking to find a heart, and Cowardly Lion looking to find courage represent ourselves.  We want to be smart, have more heart felt thoughts, and to be courageous.  And it is the journey that gives us the opportunities that help us to realize those qualities within ourselves.  When Dorothy and the crew finally get the witches broom to take to the Wizard of Oz in order for him to help Dorothy go home and the others characters to have a heart, brains, and  courage, he can't deliver this to them and uses his big booming voice to get them to leave.  I love the line in this that says, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" for it is what we are to do ourselves.  The big booming voices behind the curtain, the ones who would tell you the way out of your problems can only point out ways you can try,  but it is you who will find all that you need within your own self as it happens in this movie. That power latent within ourselves will get us home just as it did Dorothy and as the characters learned was something they possessed already.


                                                             Alice in Wonderland


Another girl falling down down down the rabbits hole under the tree lands in a kind of world where she has her experiences with beings who are all to similar to peoples of our world today.   There is the rabbit always hurrying about trying to get somewhere and being forgetful.  Then the Cheshire cat smiling and fading in and out of existence with his fascinating talk about which way to go.  The caterpillar creature on the mushroom ask Dorothy a pertinent question. "Who are You" and he is not happy with any of her answers. We do find ourselves trying to define our own selves quite a lot when we are on a spiritual quest and we all are on one  whether  or not we know it . 


There is the Tweadaly Do and Tweadaly Dum characters who only care to be goofy and dance and sing and play around but are not at all helpful.  Know any people like that? How about the card characters working so frantically to please the Queen by painting the white roses red, not knowing that they have a right to a purposeful life  without all the strict and cruel  rulings of a Queen who is so unkind  and unfair. If she does not like you,  for any little reason  and she says, "Off with his head".  And the people caring for the baby who have no idea how to feed this baby, a baby which acts more like a pig than a human.  Then there is  that mad hatters tea party where there is all the double talk, no actual purpose being served and no manners at all.  We have played the roles of probably all of these characters at one time or another in our lives.  It is good to have a laugh at ourselves.


                                                            The Never Ending Story


This is a tremendously important story for teaching us that we are very important in the grand scheme of things.  Bastion whose mother has passed away and who lives with his father, is trying  to be sensible and keep his feet on the ground. He likes to draw and  he lives in  his imagination a lot by reading books and dreaming. He is struggling to be brave in a world where he gets thrown into a trash dumpster almost daily on his way to school by older boys who frighten him.  He wants so much to be brave and one day ducks into a bookstore as he is running from the boys who bully him where he finds out about the book with the Auryn, a book that is not a safe book according to the store keeper who intrigues Bastion with talk of this book. 


Bastion takes the book with him to school and spends the entire day in the attic of the school reading the book, skipping class and just becoming self absorbed in the reading of the book. He reads of this land Fantasia which is being destroyed by the "Nothing" . He becomes like an intimate friend to the character Atreyu who is a brave boy willing to answer the plea from the Childlike Empress to stop the Nothing from completely destroying Fantasia. The Nothing is causing Fantasia to be swallowed up into nothingness and Artreyu has to go to the Southern Oracles in order to find the answer as to what will stop the Nothing. He has to face the fearsome Gmork who is wanting to stop Atreyu and who loses Atreyu in the Swamp of Sadness. The Swamp is a place where if you become sad, you will sink to your death in the quicksand so you know you have to keep up your courage and your hope and not fall into despair. 

Atreyu has many adventures, which Bastion feels as thought he is talking to Atreyu as Atreyu goes thorough his trials of looking for the answer.  The greatest part of this story is related in the end where Bastion realized from hearing the Childlike Empress emplore him to know that he by reading the book, has become part of the never ending story and his participation is needed so that Fantasia will not be completely destroyed. He has a hard time believing that he, a mere boy could be so important, but finally he gets the courage to enter into the story line and do a very simple thing which makes all the difference and Fantasia is restored. 


                                                      Shark Boy and Lava Girl


This story is just chock full of metaphysical truths about how it is that we are to give our dreams definition. There are the dream characters which  Max writes about in his dream journal, characters  who live in his dream land. The dream characters  are needing Max there to help them defeat a new foe. Their world is in danger and the two dream characters, Shark Boy and Lava Girl, both need Max to help them define themselves more effectively so that they can battle the Black Magician in their world who wants to control everything and everyone.

Max learns how  to become a lucid dreamer while in the dream world so that he can help his dream characters.  Lava girl is finding that she is not able to help her world since Max created her in his dream to be fiery tempered and erupt into fire when she becomes enraged at something.  Shark Boy also needs to learn to think before he lashes out at injustice in his world because he is being defeated by his own lack of control of his anger.  Lava Girl knows that there is more to her than just her fiery ways and longs to find out who she really is.  As I watched this movie I wrote out more than 50 metaphysical truths that were brought out in a most wonderful way by the writers of this movie. The one that I liked the most was this.  When your dreams become reality, reality becomes the dream.  This is a must see for all on the path to awaken their consciousness and realize their dreams.


                                                               Shrek


Shrek is a very cute movie about an ogre names Shrek. He has to rescue the princess Fionia who is locked away in a tower guarded by a dragon. She has been under a curse wherein  she is a Princess by day but at night she turns into an ogre.  Yet when she is rescued and kissed by her Prince to be, she will be released from the curse.  Trouble is, Princess Fionia falls in love with the ogre Shrek as they are traveling back to the castle.  When the moment comes that she can change into a beautiful storybook princess, beautiful and rich and all that, she opts to stay an ogre like Shrek so that they can be together.  This movie shows so cleverly how that the stereo type, "beautiful is the best way to be" is not such a powerfully acceptable way to think by people who desire true happiness rather than to fit into a mold that has been handed down about what is beautiful and what is not.  The donkey in this movie is very funny and will keep you laughing the whole way through.


                                  The Gods Must be Crazy


Into the Kalahari Desert where the little bushman lives a coke bottle falls from an airplane and is found by the Bushmen tribe living there. They are a very gentle people living close to the earth and at one with their animal friends and the earth but now this bottle that seemed to be a gift from the Gods has fallen into their area and they are having trouble concerning it.


It turns out that the bottle is so useful to them for doing their chores for they use it in various ways and it turns out that everyone seems to want the bottle at the same time. This causes fights to erupt and it frightens the gentle bushmen peoples so that they think, "The Gods must be crazy to have sent us this since it makes us mean to one another". So this little bushman has the task to take the bottle to the ends of the world and drop it off there.  They think that this is the only way to be rid of it so he sets out to travel further than he has ever traveled before in order to return this bottle to the gods.


He meets people in the surrounding country who are fighting a war, people also who are research scientist, and a funny story evolves where the Bushman is taken prisoner because he killed a sheep to eat, not knowing that the people owned herds of sheep and this was not permitted.  The American researcher takes him in because he feels the Bushman would not survive being locked away for six months as was his sentence.  He is just very unknowing about all that is in this new way of life he is experiencing  BUT  for all his ignorance of things, it is the Bushman who ends up saving the day in this story. 


I liked this story because it shows the wisdom of the indigenous people who while they may be ignorant of modern ways, have a kind of knowledge that is in many ways vastly superior to those who think that they are more advanced. This story beautifully and effectively shows a kind of wisdom of the Bushman,  in a very funny and interesting way pointing out the recognition of the ways of the Bushmen as of value.  The Bushman learns that the white people he thinks of as gods at first, are a very heavy people who can't survive without their magic contrivances, so he does not think real highly of their ways and prefers his own.





The Last Mimsey

Two children while on a summer break from school find something washed up by the waves of the ocean.  It is a very unusual box like contrivance and they open it to find some fascinating items in it.  These are items sent from the future by a scientist who is hoping that by finding someone in the past, he can heal the future generation.


Noah and Emma, the two children find that the possession of these unusual rocks which can create a entry into another dimension, and a little stuffed rabbit which can communicate with the girl  Emma, (items which were in the box) gets them into trouble with the government who wants to investigate this happening since the making of the opening of this other dimension by the kids playing around with the magical rocks caused a power outage across the country and was traced to the kids summer home by the ocean.  The children have to work hard to find the way to use the dimensional opening and what it is that they are suppose to do to help for the rabbit called Mimsey, has a way of  communicateing to Emma that she must return to the future or she will die. . They do learn how this is done and in the end they effect a return of the rabbit into the future with a tear from the little Emma on the rabbit for she knew it was dying and was crying, her tears dropping onto the stuffed rabbit. But it was the DNA in the tear she cried onto the rabbit that saved a future generation for they had lost the ability to love and care for one another and what was needed was the DNA of a person from the past who had a very tender and loving heart.   This is a very good story and I enjoyed it very much.


                                                             Brother Bear


This movie is about three brothers, one of whom is accidentally killed and the youngest brother, Kenia,  believes the killer to be a bear that caused his  oldest brother's death. So he kills this mother bear who was only defending her cub and not actually attacking his brother.


Kenia is magically turned into a bear himself  and he has to run from his other brother who believes now that both of his brothers have been killed by a this bear that Kenia now is.  So Kenia is running from his brother who does not know that his younger brother is actually the bear he is hunting.  Kenia meets a young bear named Koda who is looking for his mother.  Kenia befriends him because Koda can show him how to get to the land of the lights in the sky, the Aurora, where he believes he can get the help he needs to be turned back into a human again. 


But on this trip to this high mountain place, Kenia learns of the ways of the bears and finds that Koda is looking for his mother who he got separated from.  It turns out that Koda's mother is the bear Kenia had killed and now he is very torn within knowing that Koda whom he has learned to love, has no mother because of him.  This is a very good movie to show how that when you put yourself in the shoes of another being, you see things differently and you understand that anger and revenge have caused pain to others when an understanding should have been sought first.


                                                                       Ice Age


This is a very good movie to show how to love those who have done something very hurtful to you.  Manfred is a mammoth and this in the land of long ago when the ice age was beginning to close up a passage to the higher country.  A little baby girl was separated from her mother who died trying to save her, and the father was frantic to find his family after tigers attacked  their party of travelors in this wild icy land.  A sloth named Sid and Manfred the mamouth, both find this baby and they are trying to get the baby back to the father before the gap opening the entrance to the higher land  freezes  over with snow and ice and the way be blocked.  They are aided by a tiger who is really on a quest to take the baby back to his boss  tiger for them to kill for these tigers have much hatred for the people. 


It turns out that Manfred, who thinks that he is possibly  the last  mamouth, has a big problem also with returning the baby, because Manfred's  mother and father were killed by men.  Yet the baby is blameless and warms the hearts of both the Sloth named Sid (a very lovable funny character) and Manfred as they journey toward the camp of the men.  The Tiger. Named Diego,  who joins them has to pretend that he only wants to help them when actually he is waiting for the chance to take the baby.  Yet the tiger becomes friends with Sid the Sloth and Manfred  the mamouth and his cold cold heart melts when he realized that they love him like he were family and that they even risk their live to save him. Every one of the characters in this movie overcomes their weaknesses, their hatreds, and this story ends well with the baby getting back into the arms of his father.  


What I like about this movie is that is shows that we must be able to forgive even the most horrible sin committed against us like that of having your parents killed in front of you. Are we there yet, some of us I believe are?


                                                    Finding Nemo


Martin is a clown fish and he has a son named Nemo.  They live on the Barrier Reef and when Nemo hatched he was the only survivor of all the eggs after  a shark  attack which killed his mother and all his brothers and sisters.  So Martin the father never wanted to let Nemo out of his sight for fear that he would be killed.  Nemo hated being confined to such a small area around the coral that was his home and longed to go out into the deep where he could look around and be brave and not have to live in fear as his father was so eager to have him do, but life for Nemo was just too boring and uneventful if you have to always be in fear.


So when Nemo started to school, Martin had to allow his son to go a little further from their home in the coral and one day Nemo in a kind of defiance of his father who was looking on, swam out into the deep part beyond the Barrier Reef.  There a diver collecting fish caught him up and took him back to his home in Australia  to put into his fish tank.


Martin does not know where his son Nemo is and sets out to find Nemo somewhere out there among 3.7 trillion fish in the ocean.  He meets Dory who is a trillion fish and is a very forgetful but  pleasant fish. She wants to help Martin find Nemo but her help turns into more of a hindrance because of all of her zany ways.  Yet she has a belief that if you just trust and believe, things will all work out. They have some very scary experiences and it proves true that her trust and belief do benefit them for they do find and rescue Nemo. 


This is a good movie to teach us about trusting and not trying to live in a fearful clinging kind of way.  There is a turtle in this movie who shows Martin and Dory how to ride the jet streams to get to where they want to go, and he teaches them to more or less not worry and go with the flow.  It is a very good movie I think.


                                           Bridge to Terabithia


In this movie the character, a boy named Jess needs to have a friend and does find a friend in a new girl that moved into his neighborhood.  Their homes are near a wooded area where the two like to swing across a divide on a rope swing and play in a tree house they find in the woods there on the other side.  His friend Leslie is a girl who has a fondness for using her imagination and making their time in the woods be filled with imaginary creatures and adventures that  turn their part of the woods into a real fantasy land for the script  writing of this play in the woods has their imagination  be objectified as to what they imagine they are seeing and playing with.


Leslie's father and mother are both writers and they have a different style of life than Jess has with his family. His family are church goers and one day they invite Leslie to go to church with them.  Jess and his little sister explain to Leslie all about hell and how bad people who don't believe certain things go there.  They speak this way because it is the way they have been taught by their parents and elders but Leslie is more or less not really into that.


Leslie is the first real friend that Jess has ever had and so when she is drowned when crossing over the rope swinging across the divide filled with rain gushing about, on the day that she went to  the woods  without Jess who has been invited by his art teacher to go to a museum of art, he is heartbroken.  He ask his father who has a more or less fundamentalist upbringing, whether he thought Leslie went to hell and his father explains that he can not imagine such a sweet girl as Leslie ever going to hell.  In this movie Leslie is living by what all she can imagine which makes for a very fanciful and interesting play of pretending and  acting through one's imagination.  It is in contrast to Jess's father who in contrast to being able to imagine wild adventures, bases his belief on what he can not imagine, and that is that God would condemn a girl like Leslie even if she did not have the right belief to a place like hell..  This is the first time I saw a movie which actually presented this belief in a format of a movie in such a tender and reassuring way. 


Even though this movie has a sad ending, it is a beginning of telling the truth about something that people sometimes don't bring  up for questioning and I am glad the writer thought to expose this truth through the medium of this movie.



Monsters Inc.


Monsters Incorporated . is a story about energy and a world of monsters, lovable and hard working monsters.  In this world they need electricity to power their machinery of their world and their means for obtaining electricity is to scare children and collect their screams in a kind of container which Monster's Incorporated pipes out to the residents of this Monster World.


A first class Scarer  working at Monsters Inc. , named Sullivan has  a partner named Mike, a one eyed little monster who helps him open the doors to different bedrooms of children.  These monsters have a fantastic way of having  all these closet doors of different rooms of children all over the world which are placed before them by means of a conveyor belt holding thousands of these closet door,  that they must go  each night to  scare the child in their bedroom, collect the scream in their container, and get out fast being sure to close the closet door behind them.  They are told that they can not touch any child for it would contaminate them or have any of the children's toys or clothing touch them.


One night a little girl named Boo accidentally enters the Monsters World through a door that Sullivan had opened.  Sullivan is horrified, afraid to touch her, but he must do something or he is in big trouble if this is found out.  He and his partner Mike take care of this little girl in Sullivan's apartment where they find that her laughter affects the energy of their neighborhood  causing the lights to go on and off. They also find out that touching her does not hurt them and they are working on a way to get her  back to Monsters Inc and get her back through the closet door to her room in her human world.  But it is not so easy to do this because the main monster who runs Monsters Inc has a awful plan.


It seems that the electric company is not getting the volume of  killowats that they once could get because kids were getting harder and harder to scare. So this manager and one of the more  terrible monsters named Skully had decided to take things a step further. Instead of simply scaring the children, they had a machine that would extract all of their fear into it but would  kill the child in process of the extraction.  Sullivan and Mike find out about this and the rest of the story is about how they solve this problem and protect the little girl named Boo.


There are too many details of the story to relate but in the end of this story the plot is exposed and there is a remedy.  These monsters still want their energy but they find that getting the children to laugh creates far more energy and so now they still enter the children's room, knowing of course that they won't be contaminated by the children, but they have to tell them jokes and act funny in order to collect the laughter which runs their world like electricity.


What I like about this movie  is that it is a picture story of something that I think is happening. I believe that there are entities who do feed off of fear energy and are what you might call on the dark side.  They are still a  part of God but they are a distortion of God and they work at this because in their ignorance, they find that this is like food, or vital energy for them, the fear and the anger they engender fuels them.  But they must be shown that there are other ways to get energy and they have to be shown the path (when they are ready to receive instruction)  so that  they learn that the Light is not to be feared, that it is much more rich in nutrition for them if they will change their appetite and learn to love the Light that they are now ignorant of and at war against. 



Some other movies that I won't go into detail about that I think are good  for teaching some truths are the following.


Johanthan Livingston SeaGull (a seagull who left the sea gull mentality)  


The Bicentennial Man (robot who became a man and choose to live and die as a man rather than be a perfect robot and live forever.)


Phenomenon (  A man suddenly  gifted with fantastic intelligence and the  troubles that  this brings to his life)


Mulan   (female energy being shown as something to be praised and honored for it's strength and intuition. Story takes place  in China where females are often very subservient to the male)


Powder - A person too advanced in knowledge to find a place of comfort in this world.


The Iron Giant   A giant robot is befriended by a little boy who helps the robot know that he has a choice in how he will think and act.


Charlie and the Chocolate Factory  Charlie Bucket finds the golden ticket and now he can be chosen for his pure heart and guilelessness to be one trusted to run the chocolate factory.


Pay it Forward  A young boy finds a way to bless a lot of people with a plan for giving where the  gift just keeps on giving always moving forward.


Meet the Robinson's   A orphan boy  finds his home while  visiting the future and realizing that his past was the way it was for a good purpose.

Is Too Much Knowledge Harmful?

This being a rainy day, we all decided to go to the movies. I saw the movie "Spiderwick" with my son and grand daughter.  It is one of those magical movies with little fairies and monsters. 


This was a good movie for me to view with my son because of a pertinent statement that was very meaningful which came towards the end of the movie.


The statement spoken by the main character speaking to his daughter, was something like this.  "I am sorry that my pursuit of the strange and wonderful magical kingdom was so intense and absorbing that I was blinded to the magic I had right before my eyes, you my daughter."


This is a thought that my son Steve, has had concerning me many times only I did not quite know how to relate to him about it.  I have been in pursuit of the knowledge pertaining to  a better understanding of a world that is kind of like to us a fantasy world, only to me it is seeming to be in actuality a  more real world than the world that we live in, at least ‘most of us'  live in daily.


Sometimes to him I know he has seen me as being  too absorbed in my pursuit of learning of that world so  that I fail to see the magic of that which is all around me in this world where I can enjoy my life with my son and daughter-in-law and grandkids and the nature all around me. 


Yet I do enjoy this world, though I think of it as a world of illusion. It is after all where we reside, where we struggle for peace and comfort and enjoyment right here in this unreal world which we live in. But there is a strong attraction to fantasy worlds as evidenced through books and movies portraying people's ideas of these worlds.  My son himself is fascinated by these kinds of movies which give us ideals of how fantasy worlds might be.  I think that many people  like this and maybe they have a vague idea that we are not seeing all that is to be seen and experienced and so the result is that fascinating fantasy movies are becoming quite popular these days.  


So after the movie I told Steve that the statement at the end of this movie about the man being too absorbed, was something that was very important to hear.  He said, "I have been telling you that all along mother". And I answered him that "Yes, I know you have but you have not understood that I do appreciate this world that we live in, the beauty of it and the beauty of my grandchildren and all.  I want my feet to be on the ground, yes, but I also want my head in the clouds. I want to understand the other dimensions that you only now see as just another kind of entertainment for movie goers." 


This movie brings to light the question, "is too much knowledge a dangerous thing not to be pursued because of the danger of it being disseminated into the knowing of those who would use it wrong?


After all, in the mystery schools of old that taught esoteric knowledge, it was once only taught to a few deemed worthy to learn of it.  Only now this is not so, for there are many avenues where a person now of days can obtain much of this kind of knowing.  What was to be taught to the few in mystery schools is now something that is freely given to all those who think that they would like to know more and who will pursue knowledge.


I am feeling that the unknown is something that many people are ready to begin to grasp. For if the real 3-D world we live in now is after all ‘an illusion' created by thoughts, individual and collective thoughts of humanity through out long periods of time,  then we really need to understand the Spirit world so that we can better influence this 3-D physical world which  we are so focused in as humans. 


I personally don't worry about the unknown things in the spiritual world as  being something that can be used for causing harm to others.  It is the magic of this illusionary world such as splitting the atom and learning to make an atom bomb that is what I call black magic,  that has causes problems.  So I am more interested in  what can be pursued when one looks into the world of Spirit  for I understand it to be how we can learn to apply a law superior to any black magic laws (used by so many now)  that it even would make these lower laws to be of no effect. 


Learning of this other world is to me my pursuit of my own Divinity.  My mind is continuously tempting me by identifying objects I see in the physical world. The question is how to stop this process of thinking so that I can realize my Divinity. I am like unto a projector always seeing something accomplished after, and only after I use some projected thought that keeps it always a future event to me because I am not fully able to grasp the power that is found from being fully here in the moment of NOW.


  Perhaps this kind of ability I am hinting at (that we can create with thought alone)  can be thought of as magical, a phenomenal thing, super natural, but  NO. Don't we LIVE in the magical unreal world created by our undisciplined thoughts  that have so often  blocked our being able to see our true heritage from God.  Does our imagination cause us to believe that there is limitation, lack, and other such obstacles out there. Sure we can create machinery that is labor saving, lighting that illuminates our houses, ways of manipulating matter, forcing matter into our service BUT is there another way. 


In our life we are always confronted with problems to be solved which we need a clear mind in order to analyze the problem. But the mind is not capable of approaching the problems without distractions. The mind is always thinking about past incidents and  projecting these past impressions into the present, preventing  our accomplishment of so much we would like to see accomplished in our world.  So as I see it the time is now to TRANSCEND the MIND in order to enter fully the SPIRITUAL WORLD.


But it is a difficult task to understand our own mind and be able to transcend it.

 I think it is difficult because of the fact that we the observer have to learn to watch our mental activities (so that they won't be too easily influencing what we observe) in a detached manner. In order to contact REALITY our mind must become still without projecting its past impressions.


 We are not the mere product of environmental influences or slaves to our instinctive passions and impulses.  We are the ones who will create an environment though our thought and actions and if we have purity of heart and clarity of thought, we can effect ALL things. Just how important are our thoughts in shaping our world? Our thoughts are so powerful that they not only affect us, but also stimulate others as well. So can we stop war?  Well, can we stop the warring factions within ourselves for this we must do first in order to change our world?  "Peace begins with me" takes on a fuller meaning.  I must be peaceful. I must look upon the situations in our world and not internalize them, not wear the emotions they tend to engender.


There is a divine paradox in all this, for if we see the world as being a world that is not peaceful and at war, then are we not already entertaining a limited and self destructive thought about the condition of the world?  What I am suggesting is not to call what IS  ‘as though it were not'. My thought is that we use our  imagination  in such a way that we CAN call what IS NOT as though it WERE.  We can observe what is happening around us dispassionately not allowing ourselves to be  drawn into the emotional responses of fear, hate or bitterness, sadness or the feeling of not having any way to change things or the need  to get revenge. We must remember always that our thoughts about a thing are powerful and will create what we believe to be true especially if we are emotional, fearful, or worried about.  You can have what you fear, in other words.


In a book I am reading called "Here and Now" the author is expressing our need to be meditative and about how to meditate.  He says, "  Clear perception takes place in a mind that is not distracted by external influences. Although modern civilization has much advanced in scientific discoveries, the modern man is still groping in darkness as far as the true values of human life are concerned, because the vast development of material prosperity has blinded him to the necessity and importance of spiritual integration. Man thinks by amassing wealth and material goods he can attain happiness, on the contrary sensual enjoyments lead to utter frustration. The great secret that one must learn is to maintain the purity of one's mind and the clarity of one's thought all the time, even under unfavorable circumstances.


  So I watched a movie today with my son.  Maybe still he thinks of me as having strange ideas and not being appreciative enough of what is in my everyday life,  but Maybe Not, for I am seeing him as understanding that my thoughts have some validity.  I become more sure every day that  the happenings of the next few years are going to involve more and more people into looking at this world differently, with more imagination, with more purity and clarity of thought, wanting what is good for all that is down to the tiniest unit of life.  So with my own thought given me by my inner self (God), I make my day peaceful and enjoyable.
