Are you a creature of habit?

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Diana : TheMetaphysicalPotter Diana
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 04, 2008:

Not all ways am I a creature of habit.  Sometimes I resist the temptation to keep the same pattern day after day.  However, I think it is good to have habits that work for you.

Yet it  can also be something that will sometimes cause you to miss out on things simply because you were not willing to do or try something new and different and maybe even something unknown with an element of fearlessness to be faced in doing it.

Meditation is the WAY

Posted on Jan 13th, 2008 by Diana : TheMetaphysicalPotter Diana
I have been reading a book called "Eternity Here and Now" which is very interesting. In it there is the statement that  we all have this urge in us to seek fulfillment only in perfect peace.

Then it goes on to say that this is to empty ourselves, but not an emptying that is a state of nothingness so much as  it is a cessation of desires.

I have always thought desire is very necessary and have not understood why we would want the cessation of desires.  The book went on to explain that it is not to be a slave to our own desires that is to be cultivated. In  reading this book I found that this emptying  is more a way of understanding our inner reality so that we can live peacefully with our desires.

A quote from this book........
.........  ...... We are not the mere product of environmental influences or slaves to our instinctive passions and impulses. We are creating environment through our thought and actions. If we have purity of heart and clarity of thought we will never be affected by environment. Our thoughts play an important part in shaping our spiritual life. Our thoughts do not only affect us, but also stimulate others as well. For an example, if we concentrate on pure thought, first of all it induces us to think intensely and deeply and at the same time we are also contributing right and pure thoughts abundantly, which will spontaneously uplift others to think rightly and purely through the medium of thought vibrations. In view of this fact, we must exercise right thinking, right understanding and right attitude in all our mental activities. ........  ..........

I was made aware of the need for meditation.  But there is the task of purifying our minds before we undertake the path of meditation.  So there is a great need for us to understand our minds, a difficult task yet when we get to that place where we seem to be detached in a manner of speaking and only observing our thoughts, then we can be more objective.  We won't get in our own way so much.

In meditation we must be able to silence the mind and be still without projecting past impressions on what we are observing.

Once I was at a workshop where there was a woman who could douse with these rods. She could detect our energy field, how far out it extended from our body.  The further out, the more energy we could employ.  Then as she would show us where our energy field came to, she would then ask us to think of the  twin towers falling on 911.  Just thinking of that occurence changed our energy field to a much smaller distance from our bodies.

Our thoughts are so very important, moreso than we even realize at times.  Sure there are lots of things happening in our world that to know about will bring our energy down and we hear of them through many forms of media output, but we have to begin to be less influenced by them and view them in a detached way.  Sometimes I believe that bad news is being used to keep people in a state of anxiety purposefully by those who know the power of our thoughts, yet who want to control what people think. BUT  this we can do something about.  We don't have to buy into the fear and the worry.  We don't have to let ourselves be tantilized by the antics of some Hollywood celebrity acting up.  It is a battle for our minds that is being fought. We can  begin to use our minds in a more profound way.

If anything is going to change the direction the people are headed in this world, it is going to be changed in thought first.  We have to transcend our minds.  The magic is to just begin doing this. Once we begin, the ways and means will be made known to us.  The mind has to cover the same information that it has covered before and so it is thus limited so if we are thinking that we have to have the plan all laid out first, we will most likely never begin for we will be thinking "no way is this possible".  .  If we begin to think, "well there is no answer to what to do about the problems in our world, because how can this or that happen, by what means can it be done and on and on etc.   " then we will be stopped before we even begin. But if we know that we can simply think peace and use our imagination and use it to tell a good story of how we want our world to be, and begin to cultivate peace within our own selves,  THEN the magic that no one really understands how it is done,  can begin to bring all the ways and means.

What are you addicted to?

Posted on Jan 14th, 2008 by Diana : TheMetaphysicalPotter Diana
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 14, 2008:

I want to give up entirely drinking any coke.  I seem to crave drinking coke some days  and if I drink coke, then I do not get enough water because of being satisfied by the coke which is not good for me and the water is good for me. So I try not to have it in the house to tempt me yet sometimes someone will bring one over, or I am ask to get some at the store, and I cave in about not drinking it again.

Another addiction I have is to spend my money unwisely and too fast.  I would like to get that problem settled and I am working on that.  When I moved to a new place recently and had to actually look over all my "stuff' and move it and get rid of lots of it, it really hit home that I did not need half the things I acquire.  This problem was even more experienced by my son and his wife who also had done this even moreso.  We had to pay for a big dumpster to be put in front of the new place, just to throw all of this kind of stuff away.  Some of it we gave to Good Will and some was just junk.......but it represented lots of money having been spent on it, or rather mis spent.

So I am going to learn to save money for something I really would like to do, like to go on a cruise somewhere, something I have never done.

Sometimes I feel that I am addicted to my computer because when I did not have the Internet for having to wait for it to be set up at the new place, it was hard to not be upset that I could not have the communication it affords me.   This I don't plan to 'do away with' but to alter a bit here and there, and let myself actually go outside and do yard work or ride my bycycle with the grandkids.  I don't think it is good for me to sit down for too long a period of time before the computer without getting up to move about and exercise more.

If I accomplish these changes, I will be very proud of myself for overcoming things that have been holding me back from experiencing life fully.

How tolerant are you?

Posted on Jan 16th, 2008 by Diana : TheMetaphysicalPotter Diana
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 15, 2008:

I am very tolerant of most things.   Even when something is very bad, I try not to judge it as bad or become emotionally charged over the overall badness of it.

The reason for this is because I think that we all are responsible for all the things happening in our world, for we have had the power to make things better yet not knowing how to use this power, we have instead contributed to it's continuing badness with our thoughts about it.

The why of this is something that I think is little understood and it has to do with our thoughts being creative.  When we are emotional, we are creating more of what we are emotional about.  We can even use our imagination and become emotional in our contemplation of something good we want and the very intense feeling of having a wish fulfilled, will attract that good thing right to us.  Some people do this very well and others just create by default more or less, not knowing the power that is latent within them or how to use it.

But this (default creating)  works in both bringing to us in our experience of reality, what we would call good and what we would call bad.  When the bad comes, quite often, people don't know that they had anything to do with it happening in their personal reality.  But it is like, if you fear a thing, then you are calling for that thing to come right to you as though you were a magnet and it is drawn.  If you fear that you have to worry about someone hurting you, you might want to own a gun for protection.  Some people do because in their imagination they can envision someone breaking into their home and threatening them.

People have said to me, "would you defend your family with a gun if someone were going to kill your kids? .  If I say that I would not, they think that I am either lying or that I am uncaring.  They always take the worse case scenario and present that to you in order for you to agree with them that having guns to defend yourself is a good thing to do.  What they won't realize is that if one lives their lives and watches what they allow into their imagination, watches what they allow themselves to become emotionally charged over, and as Jesus told us to do, really "loves their enemy", then the day that someone is at your door to kill your family would never come.  That would be because you did not draw that kind of happening to you.  It is also very much to do with faith and with intuition.  Keeping in touch with your intuition, the voice inside, your gut feeling, whatever you want to call it, can keep you out of harms way.

So when something happens that I don't particulary like, I do not feel intolerant of it for the reason that this will not do any good for myself or for the other. This does not mean that I would not vote to prohibit something in a lawful way, that I did not wish to have be.  I think of intolerance as being angry  and charged up to fight something.  I have witnessed people become quite proud of their intolerance of certain things, even proud of their anger and agressiveness.  They defend their right to be angry.

We live in a world where we are in training to become God's and God has free will, so must we always have free will.  Without it we would never learn how to handle it, how to use it properly,  or how that our thoughts influence our world around us.  Mankind has certainly used his free will to bring about some awful conditions in his world, but even so he has the power within himself to change the condition we find our world in.  But he must be enlightened as to the cause and not just always look at the effect and try to effect an effect with another effect. That gets us no where.  We have to be the CAUSE. We have to see ourselves as the CAUSE of what it is we are intolerant of, because until we do, we will not come at the problem with the attitude, "I helped to cause this so I can undo it at the level of cause".  We have to literally change the way we think about our enemy.  We have to do as God, who called what was not as though it were.  We have to live less and less in the world of sensed awareness and more and more in the attitude that like God we also can say, "I send my word and my word will accomplish all that I send it out to do and will not come back to me void.  We can say "Let there BE" and then name it.   WE like Captain Picard on Star Trek can just say, "Make it so".

This may sound strange or unbelievable to some but it is being shown in the science called quamtum physics that the observer influences what is observed.  We are not without this power UNLESS  we think that we are without this power.  That is what has to change, moreso than getting the right politicians in offiice, or working to make the churches indoctrinate people to be good (or else)  .   Those two things often just make things worse.  The battle will be engaged in  and won by those who awaken themselves and realize that we are holding the all the Aces in our hand.  It is a KNOWING that is the next frontier to explore.  Spirit is not physical.  It is more like a KNOWING than like anything physical yet all that is physical comes from that KNOWING.  That KNOWING, GOD, is impersonal and STILL and BALANCED.  ALL power springs from that still place just like a lever can pick up a heavy weight if you place one end of it on a still spot, the fulcrum.   WE are the I AM..    BE Still and KNOW that I AM GOD....

Conscious Evolution (Tolerant or not Tolerant) (Angry or Joyful)

Posted on Jan 25th, 2008 by Diana : TheMetaphysicalPotter Diana

Conscious Evolution

That's what we're all about. We want to evolve our consciousness for when we can do that, well then we can order us a perfectly wonderful life. As the Bible puts it, we can know the fullness of our salvation (when we alter our conversation aright) .

I don't think of salvation as meaning that one goes to heaven when they die.  No, No, salvation to the thirsty man is finding water, to the  lost man, finding his way back to his home.  These things do require faith, faith that you can find water or that you can find your way back home.  What I am going to say here you will have to take by faith but it is easy to do for all you have to do to prove this is to "try it".

This week I listened to Greg Braden talking about what he calls "The Divine Matrix" which is  sort of like a field of energy.  Everything goes into this field, every thought and emotion there is and consciousness affects this field.  He said our universe works like a massive consciousness computer and we are the programmers of what will go into that field and the computer language it uses is human emotions.

He went on to explain how that we are affecting it and it is affecting us and we can change it by what we put into our own personal consciousness.  It is the feelings within our hearts that will change the world we live in.

Neville Goddard called this the SUBCONSCIOUS, that part of us that creates when suggestions are given to it. He explained that it was the "father within" us that Jesus referred to when he said, "Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world".  The he that is in the world is the CONSCIOUS self mostly ruled over by the ego desires.

This energy field, SubConscious part of us, Divine Matrix, (called by many names) does not initiate thought. It acts on what we perceive to be the truth whether what we perceive be true or not, it makes no distinction.

So our conscious self (that is in this world) needs to know this and assume the responsibility for making this world into a paradise by using this ability to create with our thoughts. We are creating with our thoughts all the time anyway but when we have more power over our thoughts, we can do some deliberate creating.

But mostly people call things like they see them.  Mostly we curse and complain bitterly about all the things we don't like.  We can get quite emotional over all in this world that is so wrong, so cruel, so unlawful, so threatening.  Then when we do that, we can have that (condition or situation) just continue to be for you see we are not controlling our thoughts or realizing just how powerful they are. Our thoughts are actually giving this the permission to continue to be for we are validating that it is.  It feeds off of our believing that it is and when awareness is taken away from it, it will cease and desist.

Successful men of all ages have learned to multiply themselves by gathering thought energy into a high potential and using it in the direction of their intended purpose.

It is not enough to  say, maybe engage in politics and have your opinion and argue endlessly with those with opposing views for what does this avail anyone.  I used to engage in endless, futile arguments with my son about the need for war in Iraq. He was determined that we needed to send troops there and I felt that we should not. Now in his imagination there was this seeing of something terrible happening if we did not send the troops. In my imagination there was another kind of scene playing out of us using our sons and daughters as cannon fodder just to line the pockets of the war mongers who make a great deal of money off of war.

We were both of us NOT USING THE FORMULA, for how to change things in our world. The reason we were not was because our imagination was creating worst case scenarios, and in fact we were adding to the great problem because we did not use our imagination rightly.

I don't know much about the politics, the specific reasons for all of the unrest in the Middle East, but really there is only one thing I need to know and that is how am I going to  imagine. I can imagine peace between the Arabs and the Israelis.  I can picture in my mind them coming together in peaceful ways and enjoying one another's company, having their children play together, learning from one another.  Then after I picture this in my imagination, I allow myself to feel the happiness as though this were already an accomplished fact.  This is the "faith" that we need.  This kind of faith triggers the emotional body in such a way that it effects the matrix, the subconscious, part of us that then will in it's own mysterious way (past finding out how it does it) accomplish the desired end.

But we get too invested in the ‘how to' part which is the middle part, when all we need do is imagine the end.  All people will agree that the end we want to see is peace in the Middle East between the warring factions there.  So with this in mind there won't have to be arguing and saying, "Well if it is not done this particular way, this or that is going to happen."  We can have peace among ourselves in our pursuit of this when we realize that it is not about getting another to see the solution as being done such and such a way as regards to maneuvers and such.  It is all done in our imagination.  We only have to feel as if the peace were already there.

We only have to know the beginning and the end.  The Middle is done by that mysterious "father within" or "Divine Matrix" that acts on the emotions we actually feel and program it with.  We don't have to say how to accomplish, just only to use our greatest of all powers, our IMAGINATION.

I wish here to tell you of a personal experience I had using my imagination the wrong way.  (don't try this at home) HA

My husband Bob used to have amnesia and forget things.  Sometimes I would tell him of things that I had been through in an attempt to entertain him by telling him of some of my experiences.  So this one particular day I was telling him about the time that my daughter Susan and I were both sick, terribly sick. We lived in this low income housing, roach infested horrible little place on the third floor.  We did not have a car and we needed to get to a doctor. We knew of a doctor who was several blocks away so we set out to walk there for treatment. Both of us walked and as we walked we were so sick it was hard for us to even move one foot in front of the other, but move we had to, so we dragged ourselves along the way and finally got to the doctor.

When I was telling Bob of this experience, I lavished it with colorful vivid detail and really I was quite dramatic about the retelling of this.  I brought up the memory of how it was that we felt, how hot that day was, how bad our symptoms were and then suddenly IT happened.  I became sick in the same way right then and there after telling of this experience to Bob.  Out of the clear blue, I had been feeling just great (health wise) but within seconds of telling of this experience, here I was getting a horrible sore throat and all the fever and symptoms of that cold came back right away and I knew I had done this to myself.

I did this to myself because somehow I had suggested to my ‘subconscious' that this was a desired end, probably because of the entertaining way I was telling about it to Bob.  It was by emotion that it was created, a full blown case of the flu. I could just as easily have told him about how one time I did some fantastic thing that made me feel very good and then I would have  recreated that feeling instead of the flu.  But I am glad that this happened because it brought home the knowing of this fact, that we create with our emotions.

Everywhere I look I am seeing people talking about this kind of thing both in scientific ways and in just good sense ways.  Those three monkeys that are so popular, or used to be; you know the ones with their hands over their eyes, their ears, and their mouth.  Well they had a truth to portray with the saying, "See no evil, say no evil, and hear no evil".

We can choose what thoughts we will entertain in our minds. We have to choose our thoughts and alter them if necessary.  A while back the question of the day was "how tolerant are you" and some of us raved a little bit about how we should not continue to be tolerant and how that was a good thing because people have tolerated too much and caused much bad by their indifference and lack of action.  Most of the comments to this person were comments of agreement.

I don't think it is a matter of being tolerant or not being tolerant that is most important.  It is a matter of focusing our attention on the desired end.  We can do that here on this forum because our words get seen by others and we can unite on a common goal of something to believe for and to imagine a good outcome for.

If you will go to the address below and listen to Gregg Braden talk about this, you will find that he tells it really well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gObFt_rgMv4

We have been controlled by those who want to deliberately use the power of our emotion. All the talk of terrorist have been geared to making us fighting mad.  But this power they can no longer have over us if we refuse to play the game.  We don't need to convince anyone else but ourselves, and peace begins with ourselves FIRST.  That we can do if we will.  How about it?  TRY   PRETEND   "FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT"

What was the last thing you learned from a child?

Posted on Jan 17th, 2008 by Diana : TheMetaphysicalPotter Diana
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 17, 2008:

I was at the DMV getting a regristration on my car renewed. There was a Mexican man in front of me with his three children.  One of them was a little girl looked about three years old.  She was playing with her brother and looking all around at people.

A rather loud man sat directly behind her with his wife.  He had a keychain that had lots of keys on it in his pocket and it was in his back pocket.  He sat down on the hard chair they provided and the keys punched into his backside when he did.  Out of his mouth came the words "These keys hurt my BUTT" and he screams this so loudly to his wife.

The little girl turns around with her big eyes and stares right at the man, a hard stare not once looking away, but training her eyes on him seriously, unashamedly, and she seemed amused with this man and his screaming.  He looked at her staring right at him.  She never blinked, never looked away, just kept staring with such curiosity. . She did this for several minutes and I noticed that the man was a bit uncomfortable with it but would say nothing to her being that she was such an innocent child.  She was more at ease with this than he was for sure.

I thought of how I would find it hard to stare right in the eyes of someone like this little girl was doing.  I know I often don't want to be caught stareing at someone. We lose some of this kind of innocence when we are grown ups.

What do you wish?

I wish that people knew that they were creating more of whatever it is they allow themselves to become emotionally aroused about so that we could then learn to choose the emotions we will entertain, and thus take our dominion back.

When do you feel most important?

Posted on Jan 13th, 2008 by Diana : TheMetaphysicalPotter Diana
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 13, 2008:

I feel most important when I feel that I am appreciated.   I notice that many people are like me in that when they know that they are appreciated, they will knock themselves out to please.  We can really motivate one another by simple appreciation.
